Last updated October 2026

Our guides, calculators and dictionary terms are written for owner-operators and small fleets who make real decisions with them: which load to take, which trailer to buy, whether they need a CDL. This page explains how we make sure they're worth trusting.

Who writes

Content is written by Gustavo for the TruckQuick dispatch desk. Every article shows the author and the date it was last updated.

Sources

  • Rules first from the source. Weight limits, license classes, hours of service, testing and securement rules come from the Code of Federal Regulations, FMCSA and FHWA. When we summarize a rule, we cite the section and the date we checked it.
  • Data with names and dates. Costs and market rates come from published studies and data providers, named on the page with the period they cover.
  • Partner prices come only from the partner's current public pages, with the date we checked.
  • No invented proof. We don't make up statistics, testimonials or results. When we show a load, a week or a rate to explain the math, it's labeled EXAMPLE.

How calculators are built

Every calculator shows its formula and assumptions on the page. The math is tested in code before it's published. Where we use an assumption of our own, such as a rating factor in the insurance estimate, we say so, so you can judge it.

Every equipment type, the same standard

We dispatch many kinds of equipment and write about all of them with the same depth and care. Where rules differ by rig, we say which rig a rule applies to.

What we won't publish

We don't publish income promises, rankings where we put ourselves first, or advice to run a rig in a way that isn't legal. When an honest answer is "it depends on your state" or "check your door sticker," we say that and tell you where to look.

Updates

We review data-heavy pages, such as rates, costs, state tables and partner prices, at least once a year, and sooner when a rule changes. The updated date changes only when the content changes.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We check it against the source, fix it if we got it wrong and update the date. Significant corrections are noted on the page.

Independence

We run a dispatch business, and our guides link to our dispatch pages where it helps the reader. Some pages also link to partners we may earn a fee from; see our disclosure. A partner never pays for a review or decides what we write.
