Load boards and brokers
The central dispatch boards car haulers use, plus brokers and dealers we work with directly.
From a 3-car wedge behind a dually to a 9-car stinger. We line up dealer, auction and private moves so every spot on the trailer pays and the route makes sense. You approve every load before it's booked.
Car hauling on a hotshot lives and dies on weight. Add sedans, SUVs and pickups to the trailer and watch the actual weight, the rating and the license class change. This is the first check we do before we bring you a multi-car load.
Load cars (2/3)
EXAMPLE weights: sedan 3,300 lb, SUV 4,600 lb, pickup 5,200 lb; 3500 dually at 8,600 lb with a 14,000 lb GVWR. Use your own scale tickets and plates.
UNDER 26,000 LB COMBINED
The rating counts as much as the scale: a 15,900 lb trailer behind a 14,000 lb truck is a Class A combination even when it's light. The derated trailer keeps the rating at 24,000 lb, but fills up fast.
SOURCE: CDL rule: 49 CFR 383.91 (checked Oct 2026). Vehicle weights are typical EXAMPLE curb weights.

EXAMPLE
The pay is per car, so an empty spot is money left behind. We build the route from the furthest delivery back, fill the spots with pickups along the way, and look for the next load near the last drop. Run your own numbers with the car hauler load profit calculator.

Gate passes, release numbers and pickup windows confirmed before you arrive.
A reminder every time: photos of all sides and the odometer at pickup and delivery, noted on the BOL.
ACH, COD or partial COD confirmed up front, and shippers with payment problems screened out.
| Setup | Cars | License (federal) | Typical work |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dually + derated wedge | 1 to 2 | No CDL if combined ratings stay at 26,000 lb or less | Short dealer and private moves |
| Dually + 3-car wedge | 2 to 3 | Usually Class A (trailer over 10,000 lb) | Regional dealer and auction |
| Semi stinger | 7 to 9 | Class A | Long-haul dealer and manufacturer |
| Semi high mount | 7 to 9 | Class A | Similar to stinger, different loading |
| Enclosed trailer | 1 to 7 | Depends on rig | Classic, exotic, high-value |
Car offers show each vehicle, whether it runs, pickup and delivery addresses, payment terms, rate and broker. We never assign a vehicle to your trailer without your yes.
On a yes, the rate con or dispatch sheet comes straight to you to read and sign. If a vehicle turns out not to run, or the address changes, it's a new decision for you to make, not something to absorb.
YOUR CALL. NOTHING IS BOOKED UNTIL YOU SAY YES.
Running with two cars on a three-car trailer gives away a third of the trip. We fill spots before you leave.
Dealer closed, car not released, keys missing. We confirm release and hours before you drive there.
No photos means no defense. Inspection photos at both ends protect you.
We confirm who pays and how before you load, and screen out shippers with payment problems.
Most car freight moves open: dealer trades, auction purchases, fleet and rental moves, and private customers. More loads, more competition, and pay that depends heavily on filling every spot and planning the route.
Classic, exotic, new luxury and race vehicles. Fewer loads, higher pay per car, and higher expectations: careful loading, soft straps, liftgate or low-angle ramps, and higher cargo coverage. We only bring enclosed loads your insurance actually covers.
Car freight has seasons too. Spring tends to be busy with tax-refund buying and dealer restocking, and snowbird season moves cars between the North and Florida, Arizona and Texas each fall and spring. We use those waves to set up your routes instead of fighting them.
A single hotshot wedge runs as a hotshot: 7% of the gross on loads you haul. A semi car hauler with authority older than 6 months pays 5%. New authorities pay 7% until month six, and fleets of two or more trucks pay 4%. No setup fee, no minimums, no fee on loads you turn down. Every rule is on rates and fees.
Sometimes. If your truck GVWR plus trailer GVWR is 26,000 lb or less, and the actual weight stays under it, no CDL is needed under federal rules. Many 3-car wedges are rated higher than that, which makes the combination a Class A rig even when it's light. Check both plates.
7% of the gross for a single hotshot wedge, since it runs as a hotshot. Semi car haulers with authority older than 6 months pay 5%. Fleets of two or more trucks pay 4%. No setup fee, no minimums.
Yes, with the right setup: a truck and trailer whose combined ratings stay at 26,000 lb or less, usually a derated wedge carrying one or two vehicles. Heavier setups and every semi car carrier need a Class A CDL.
Most hotshot wedges carry two or three cars depending on length and the vehicles. Weight usually limits you before space does: three full-size pickups can exceed what many wedges are rated to carry.
Yes. Dealer-to-dealer moves, auction pickups and private customer moves are the core of car hauling. We also work the central dispatch boards car haulers use, and line up multi-car loads so every spot pays.
Usually per car, with terms that vary: some brokers pay by ACH on standard terms, some loads are COD or partial COD at delivery. We confirm payment terms before you accept and avoid shippers with a history of payment problems.
Yes. Each offer shows the vehicles, whether they run, pickup and delivery addresses, payment terms, rate and broker. You say yes or pass. On a yes, the rate con or dispatch sheet comes straight to you to sign.
Yes. Enclosed hauling serves classic, exotic and high-value vehicles and often pays more per car. Tell us your trailer and capacity and we search for enclosed loads specifically.
We only bring you inoperable vehicles if you have a winch and say you'll take them. Every offer says whether the vehicle runs, so there are no surprises at pickup.
Yes. Tell us your home base and home-time days. We build loops that start with pickups near home and finish with a delivery that sets up a load back, so the last day of the week isn't an empty run.
Yes. Car hauling has plenty of brokers that work with new authorities, as long as your cargo coverage meets their minimums. Check that your cargo limit covers the vehicles you'll carry.
